Working Together - Succeeding Better!
The project activities will be conducted in 3 stages:
Stage 1: Education and training of two participants (in respect to gender equality principle – one female,one male) per partnering organisation called “Strategy Builders”; conducted in 6 events, one in each country, in the period January – December2025;
Stage 2: Creation of the Development Strategy for European Athletic Federations, in respect to and promoting EU common values; to be implemented in each partnering organisation, adapted according to the legislation of the respective country and in their own language;
Stage 3: Setting up 5 digital multilingual modules for personal growth on the topics of commonvalues, non-discrimination and gender equality and their application in Athletics,to be launched through the website of each partnering organisation and used by the athletics communities in each country.
Empowering the Future of Volunteering: WTSB Concluding Event in Kosovo
The final WTSB project live meeting took place in Pristina, bringing partners together for a meaningful conclusion to the Working Together – Succeeding Better journey. Hosted by the Athletics Federation of Kosovo, the event focused on two forward-looking themes – Sustainable Event Management and the development of the upcoming e-Volunteer digital module. Participants explored how sustainability principles can be effectively integrated into sports event planning and delivery, ensuring that future athletics events are both environmentally responsible and socially inclusive.
A key highlight of the programme was an interactive workshop with the local athletics community, centred on the topic of volunteering. Participants shared experiences and best practices, discussing how volunteering can be strengthened and better supported across athletics structures. The exchange of ideas provided valuable input for shaping the future e-Volunteer module, which will offer guidance and digital tools to enhance volunteer engagement in sports.
The event in Pristina marked the successful completion of the WTSB project, celebrating collaboration, knowledge sharing, and the shared commitment of all partners to building a more inclusive, sustainable, and ethical athletics environment across Europe.
Driving Sustainability and Innovation: WTSB Partners Meet in Vienna
The WTSB partners convened in sunny Vienna for a productive and engaging event hosted by the Austrian Athletics Federation. The programme featured in-depth discussions, held in the form of a workshop, focusing on the development of the upcoming e-Referee module – a key digital tool aimed at supporting referees and officials in athletics. Participants exchanged ideas on the structure, content, and functionality of the module, ensuring it reflects the needs and realities of the athletics community.
The event also included a series of informative presentations on sustainability and federation management. Partners explored Sustainability in Sports, covering key facts, fundamental principles, and practical approaches for addressing environmental and social issues within sports organisations. A best-practice example was shared through the Implementation of the Sustainability Concept during the Raiffeisen Austrian Open Eisenstadt, highlighting how sustainability measures can be successfully applied in major athletics events. In addition, the hosts presented the Structure of the Austrian Athletics Federation, offering valuable insights into its administration, Safeguarding measures, and referee education system.
The Vienna meeting fostered rich discussions and practical exchanges, strengthening the collective commitment to sustainability, ethics, and innovation in athletics. Participants departed with renewed energy and enthusiasm, looking forward to the final concluding meeting in Kosovo.
Sarajevo hosts event focused on Integrity, Diversity and the future of
e-Athlete
The WTSB partners met in Sarajevo for another inspiring event dedicated to advancing integrity, inclusion, and human rights within athletics. The programme featured insightful presentations on Human Rights & Integrity and Inclusion & Diversity in Athletics, sparking valuable discussions among participants. The event was honoured by the presence of the President and CEO of the Athletics Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who expressed strong support for the project’s mission and its relevance to the local athletics community.
A highlight of the event was the presentation of the upcoming e-Athlete digital module, which will be developed in the next stage of the project to support athletes and coaches through innovative digital learning tools. The meeting concluded with an engaging interactive workshop that brought together members of the local athletics community. Participants explored practical ways to promote ethical values, diversity, and fair play in their daily sports environments, while also contributing ideas for the future content of the e-Athlete module. The event once again demonstrated the project’s commitment to collaboration, knowledge sharing, and the continuous development of inclusive practices in athletics across Europe. Participants left Sarajevo inspired and looking forward to continuing their collaboration at the next project meeting in sunny Vienna!
Successful International Meeting Held in Tirana under the
"Working Together - Succeeding Better" Erasmus+ Project
Tirana, Albania recently hosted a dynamic and forward-thinking educational seminar as part of the "Working Together, Succeeding Better" Erasmus+ Project, bringing together representatives from Albania, Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Poland, Austria, and Bulgaria – all the participating countries in the project. This international gathering focused on fostering collaborative efforts to enhance the development of athletics through good governance, digital transformation, and the protection of human rights in sport. Key topics included establishing transparent and inclusive work processes within athletic federations that align with human rights principles and sports law. Special attention was given to the creation of content for a new e-administrator module—an essential digital tool designed to modernize federation operations and enhance engagement across sports society in Albania and beyond. Participants also discussed the current challenges faced by the Albanian Athletics Federation and the broader sports landscape in the country. With valuable support from European Athletics and World Athletics, significant progress is being made, including the implementation of modern photo finish and timekeeping systems, which represent a major step forward for the federation's technical capacity. The meeting proved to be more than just a platform for project coordination—it was a vibrant space for idea exchange, roundtable debates, and mutual learning. The presence of diverse representatives from across Europe provided the ideal setting for meaningful dialogue, networking, and proposals for deeper future collaboration. All participants expressed great satisfaction with the meeting and are looking forward to the next project gathering, which will take place in Sarajevo.

Warsaw, Poland recently welcomed participants of the "Working Together, Succeeding Better" Erasmus+ Project for another impactful meeting focused on driving innovation, inclusivity, and excellence in athletics management across Europe. Representatives from all Project partners- Albania, Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Austria, Bulgaria, and Poland gathered to explore key themes essential to the future of sport. The discussions centered on the staging of major international sporting events, highlighting the logistical, organizational, and legacy aspects needed to ensure success and sustainability. The meeting also delved into the ongoing digital transformation of sport, with particular emphasis on the development of content for a new e-Coach digital module. This tool aims to modernize coaching education and make learning more accessible and adaptable to current demands. Good governance remained a cross-cutting priority, with fruitful exchanges on transparency, accountability, and ethical leadership within federations.
The diverse makeup of participants once again provided the ideal platform for meaningful networking, knowledge exchange, and collaborative planning. Through open dialogue, debates, and shared best practices, the group strengthened its commitment to creating a more connected and resilient European sports community. Participants left Warsaw energized and united, with strong momentum building toward the next meeting in Tirana, Albania.
"Working Together, Succeeding Better" Project Officially Launched in Sofia
The "Working Together, Succeeding Better" Erasmus+ Project officially kicked off with an engaging and inspiring opening meeting in Sofia, Bulgaria, hosted by the project’s Coordinator. This marked the beginning of a two-year collaborative journey aimed at strengthening athletic governance, digital transformation, and international cooperation. Representatives from the Project Partner countries—Albania, Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Poland, and Austria—gathered alongside the hosts to explore the project's full scope. The detailed presentation outlined the objectives, planned meetings, key focus areas, and expected outcomes, setting the stage for impactful cooperation throughout the project’s duration.
A highlight of the meeting was a special lecture titled "10 Steps for Proper Organization of an International Event", delivered by a designated expert. This session provided practical insights and valuable guidance for all participants, many of whom are directly involved in managing sporting events at various levels. Adding a prestigious note to the meeting, the President of European Athletics joined as a special guest speaker. In his address, he shared in-depth knowledge about the structure and initiatives of European Athletics, emphasizing the importance of strong collaboration between the organization and its member federations. The energy and enthusiasm in Sofia were palpable, with all participants expressing excitement about the project and its potential. The meeting concluded with great anticipation for the next gathering in Warsaw, Poland, where the work would continue with a focus on major event staging, digitalization, and coaching development.
